Teamwork l HPE

 Teamwork is a term to describe a group of people working together to achieve a goal.

Teamwork consists of three main mechanisams. 

Communication is when you talk to someone to do something for example in a dodgeball game you have to communicate with your team.

Cooperation is a process of groups of people working or acting together. For example in a game of  dodgeball you have to work together to save your teamates back into the game.

Collaboration is people working together to complete a task or achieve a goal. For example in a dodge ball game you have to work together to achieve a goal to win the game.

SSR Selfie

I read Sport Hall of Fame 25 Kiwi Champion I read 10 pages. By Maria Gill and Marco Ivancic.

I learnt that Ivan Mauger Championship is 2012.

I also learnt that Sarah Ulmer won the Halberg Supreme Award.

I enjoyed this book because I learnt a lot of new things that I did not know about famous people from New Zealand.

Basic Facts Boxes

I completed the speed demon challenge on addition. I did up to 20. I got 100/100 my time was four minutes and three seconds. I think I need go up to 100 so I can do my multiplication.    

 

Making Connections

Making Connections is building a better understanding by linking ideas.There are 3 different typed of connection we make in reading.

Text to text, text to self, text to world are the 3 connection which will build better understandings.

Text to self is getting a part from a book and connecting it with something that you did. For example The duck gave water to the horse opinion The duck could see that the horse was tired. I gave water and food to my cat because I saw it was thirsty. These connect because they both were thirsty for water.

Text to Text is getting information from a book and getting information from a another book and seeing  what is the same about the two books. For example The duck wanted to save herself from the rat so the duck tricked the rat into thinking that the duck has a sister with lots of treats. Opinion The duck tried to defend herself from the highway. My Connection is when little red riding hood thought her grandma was trying to eat her and the little red riding hood try to defend herself from the wolf 

Text to world is connecting with a book to someting happening around the world. For example The duck returned the food to the villagers. Opinion The duck did the right thing cause it was the villages food. People giving people food so they can survive without starving. These connect because they both have no food.

Making connections can help understand people about another book or about ourselves or the world 

 

Duffy

Marc Duffy is a insporational duffy role model. 

Mar Duffy learnt to read in prision. He got a certificate from his school and Diploma in business. 

He is New Zealand boxing lightweight champion.

Mark worked for Bunnings fitting out their stores. Now he manages the largest store in New Zealand which is in Hamilton.

Mark learnt the trade of a builder and owned is own business. He went back to universitey to become a counsellor.

Mark is a insporational speaker that taught people his story that changed his life.

 

Multiplacation

Multiplication is a fast way of adding a number many times. The three, four and six times table are examples of multiplication.

The three time table are multiplying three by a number of groups.

 The four table are multiplying four by a number of groups. 

The six times table are multiplying six by a group of groups.

The times table are an easy way to remember basic multiplication equations. The next times table to learn are the seven, eight, and nine times table.

SSR Selfie Matilda

I read 30 pages of Matilda by Roald Dahl.

First I read about Matilda's parents. They owned a car that they won from a lotto ticket. Next Matilda goes to the library to read some books.

I like Matilda because Matilda's likes education more than money.

Public vs Private Information

Information is to be kept safe or be shared with others that you know. If information isn't kept safe there could be a problem.

Public information is information wanted to be shared with other people. These are some stuff  you should photos of pets and your favourite food.

Private information is information that is not wanted to be shared with other people. these are stuff you should not put on the internet  like your home adress and your personl ID

If information isn't kept safe, it could be shared, brodcast, copied, or stolen.

Character Trait

A character trait is an adjective used to describe a character from a book or a movie. The duck is is brave, genius and kind.

The duck is brave because she stood up for herself when she said she had no food and the rat wanted to eat the her.

The duck is clever because the duck leads the rat to the ducks sisters house in the mountins. the rat goes into the cave and the duck runs to the horse so the rat does not treat the horse bad.

When the duck goes back to the village they gave the food back to the villagers because it was their food

Using these facts and adjectives it can be inferred that the Duck is a clever, respectful, brave.

HPE

 LS1 is learning what is teamwork by playing games.

First we play blind fold cone challenge. we had a partner to guide us to the cone on the ground. 

Next we played blind fold dodge ball with bean bags. Your partner had to use their voice to cooperate with the person with the blind fold. 

Then we played Hunger games dodge ball in hunger games dodge you get a ball and throw them at people if you were out you can throw a ball at a person that was still in the game

I enjoyed this HPE because we got to play 3 games that used communication collaboration and cooperation.

Compare And Contrast

I learnt the diffrences and similarities between the maori haka and the Aboriginal War dance

I first put in the similarities in the DLO. One of the simularites I wrote down was that they are both trying to scare their opponents, they both slap their body and they both are loud. 

After that I wrote down my differences. One of my differences I wrote down was that the Maori people take the haka into challenging another tribe. 

I enjoyed this activity because I got learn new dances from different country  

SSR Selfie l Sport Hall of Fame 25 Kiwi Champion

 I read Sport Hall of Fame 25 Kiwi Champion I read 10 pages. By Maria Gill and Marco Ivancic.

I learnt that Casey won the World Netball Championship is 2012.

I also learnt that Jossi Wells won the World Superpipe Champion.

I enjoyed this book because I learnt a lot of new things that I did not know about famous people from New Zealand.

Fact And Opinion

I complete a task called Fact or Opinion. 

Mr Ogilvie Read a story to the class the book was called The Highway Rat. In The Highway Rat there are two people one is a duck the other one is a rat.

One of the facts I wrote was The duck returned the food to the villages and my opinion is the duck did the right thing as it was the villages food. A fact is a thing that is known or proved to be true and a opinion is a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Next we wrote adjectives to describe the character trait from our opinion.

I think I need to work on my fact and opinion. My fact and opinion did not make sense.

I complete the speed demon challenge up to 10. It took me 4 minutes and 48 second and my score was 96/100 I think I need to work on getting 100% on my basic facts up to 10.

I enjoy this task because I nearly got 100% on my basic facts boxes. I will do a harder one next time

Multipliaction

 Today I completed a task about using multiplication. We had to use counters to make a small group of numbers.

First we had to group objects into small groups.

Next we had to count the number of groups.

Then we had to use times table to find the unknown amount.

Lastly we had to organize them into a rectangle.  

I enjoyed this task because I got to learn my multiplication.
